For the three-match ODI series against New Zealand that will begin later this month, rising pacer Kuldeep Sen has received his first call-up to the India team. Earlier this year, the 26-year-old fast bowler showed amazing skills during the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Kuldeep Sen participated in IPL 2022 for Rajasthan Royals while being coached by fast bowling guru and franchise coach Lasith Malinga.

Lasith Malinga Used To Tell Me How To Bowl In Death Overs: Kuldeep Sen

The pacer from Madhya Pradesh attributes his improvement as a bowler to Malinga’s priceless advice and lessons.

Spending time with Lasith Malinga was crucial for me. His record in death overs speaks for itself and sharing his experience with him has been really good. He used to tell me how to bowl in the death overs and share his experience. I feel blessed that I got to learn from him”.

I learned a lot from him and I think I was able to make the most of my chances. I was also able to implement the things he told me and it was a great advantage getting to learn from him,” Kuldeep said in an interview with Sportskeeda.

In a game against Lucknow Super Giants in April of the current year, Kuldeep made his IPL debut. It didn’t take the right-arm fast bowler long to make his presence known.

In the game’s final over, Kuldeep successfully held off 15 runs to give Rajasthan Royals a thrilling three-run triumph. Deepak Hooda was the game’s most important wicket, and once he finished his four overs, he had cost 35 runs.

In seven games, he claimed eight wickets overall.

The 26-year-old previously travelled as a net bowler with the Indian cricket squad. He was observed participating in the Asia Cup practise sessions.

The young man thinks that his encounters with well-known figures like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma helped him hone his abilities and build confidence.

Team India will play New Zealand in three T20Is and as many ODIs following the T20 World Cup.

On November 18, the T20I series is scheduled to begin. At Auckland’s Eden Park, on November 25, the first One-Day International between the two teams will be played.
