Ace Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah responded to a heartwarming gesture from left-arm Pakistan pacer Shaheen Afridi towards his newborn child in Colombo. Jasprit Bumrah shared his gratitude and appreciation after receiving a gift from Shaheen Afridi on Sunday, September 10.

Jasprit Bumrah and Shaheen Afridi faced off against each other during the Super Fours match at the R. Premadasa Stadium. The two-star pacers interacted after the match was called off due to persistent rain. Afridi presented the Indian pacer with special gifts during their interaction.

In a video shared by the Pakistan Cricket Board on X (formerly known as Twitter), Afridi can be seen meeting Bumrah near the stands in the stadium. Shaheen congratulated his counterpart on the birth of his first child.

Replying to Shaheen Afridi’s post, Jasprit Bumrah expressed gratitude and mentioned that his family is overwhelmed with love. He also extended his best wishes to Shaheen. He said, “Beautiful gesture, my family and I are overwhelmed with the love! Best wishes always.”

Earlier, Afridi shared the video on his official social media handle and congratulated Jasprit and his family on the birth of their child. He wrote, “Love and peace. Congratulations @Jaspritbumrah93 and family on the birth of your child. Prayers for the entire family. We battle on the field. Off the field we are just your regular humans.”

Jasprit Bumrah Yet To Bowl In Asia Cup 2023

Jasprit Bumrah made his comeback in ODI cricket during the group stage match against Pakistan in Pallekele last week. The right-handed batter didn’t get a chance to bowl, as the match was called off due to rain. India bundled out for 266 runs before the rain interruption.

The 29-year-old returned home after the match to celebrate the birth of his first child, Angad, with his wife, Sanjana Ganesan. The pacer had missed India’s last group-stage match against Nepal. He replaced Mohammed Shami in the playing XI for the game against Pakistan.
