Kuldeep Yadav’s childhood coach Kapil Pandey expressed hope that his ward would guide India to victory in the upcoming clash against Pakistan in the ongoing Asia Cup. Kapil Pandey highlighted that Kuldeep Yadav can dismiss Pakistan skipper Babar Azam during the high-octane match.

The Rohit Sharma-led team will kick off their Asia Cup 2023 campaign by taking on the Babar Azam-led team at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on Saturday, September 2. The Men in Blue have a good record against Pakistan in Asia Cup history, registering 7 victories and 5 losses.

Hope Kuldeep Yadav Takes 3-4 Wickets In The Match – Kapil Pandey

In an interview with RevSportz, Kapil Pandey wished for Kuldeep Yadav to pick three to four wickets and contribute to India’s victory, emphasizing the significance of winning against Pakistan.

“In the World Cup, he had bowled Babar Azam with a big leg break. I wish he again creates pressure on Babar Azam and dismisses him,” Pandey told RevSportz.

“Not just Babar Azam, I hope he takes 3-4 wickets in the match, and powers India to a win. More than the wickets he takes, it is about India winning. You don’t want to lose to Pakistan. Hopefully, he can do his best performance.”

Kuldeep picked up two wickets for 32 runs against Pakistan during the 2019 ODI World Cup in England. The left-arm wrist spinner bowled Babar Azam with a brilliant googly, which had lovely drift and turned enough to beat the batter’s edge.’

It Becomes A Bit Difficult To Pick It – Kapil Pandey

Kapil Pandey said that Kuldeep Yadav worked hard to increase the pace of his bowling during the pandemic, emphasizing that even minor changes can make it difficult for batters to pick the delivery from the bowler’s hand.

“From the time of Covid-19, we were working hard. The ball was coming out slow, especially in T20s. One has to bowl faster, one has to add more revs on the ball. As per the changing times, changes have to be done in bowling,” Pandey further added.

“They (opposition teams) will be seeing your videos. If you look at the seam of the delivery, we have made changes to it. So that one doesn’t pick it, and if you bowl with good speed in internationals, it becomes a bit difficult to pick it. He is mixing it up (lengths and variations) very well.”

Kuldeep Yadav has been in brilliant form, consistently targeting the stumps in recent times. He has taken 22 wickets in 11 matches this year at an impressive average of 17.18, with his best figures being 4/6.
