India batter Virat Kohli has been a live wire in the ongoing second Test against South Africa in the Newlands Park in Capetown. The right-hander has shown signs of aggression as well as been hilarious on the field, entertaining the crowd.

The Day 1 of the game saw the animated best of Virat Kohli. He was seen giving hilarious reactions and apart from that enjoyed his teammates’ company. The batter hogged the headlines for his antics on the opening day and invited a lot of reactions.

While his hilarious best was on fray on Day 1, Virat Kohli made sure that he showed his aggressive best as well. During Day 2 of the game, he was at his fierce best as he was seen sledging the South African batters. One of the things that caught the attention of many was when Kyle Verreynne got out.

Jasprit Bumrah bowled a short ball to Kyle Verreynne, to which the keeper-batter tried to pull it away. The batter ended up playing it in the air and was caught by Mohammed Siraj at mid-on. As he was walking, Virat Kohli from the slips gave him a send-off and teased him by saying ‘What a shot, what a shot’.

Here’s the video:

Virat Kohli was elated with the wicket and didn’t hesitate to give it to the opposition. Kyle Verreynne was trying to hit bowlers away but failed. He managed just 9 runs off 7 balls and his wicket saw Proteas losing their 5th wicket in the second innings.

After the wicket of Kyle Verreynne, Jasprit Bumrah continued his carnage on the South African batters and picked a magnificent fifer. He started the day by removing David Bedingham (9) early on and then didn’t look back. The pacer had removed Tristan Stubbs last night.

Bumrah then removed Kyle Verreynne and followed it with the wicket of Marco Jansen and Keshav Maharaj to achieve the special milestone. He would be hoping to pick the remaining 3 wickets as early as possible to give his team a short target to chase.

IND vs SA: Virat Kohli to play vital role for India in chase

South Africa have taken the first innings lead of over 50 runs. Opener Aiden Markam has been the key architect behind that as he has been batting staggeringly well and is putting India under a lot of pressure. He would be hoping to get at least a lead of 100 runs to give his bowlers something to play with.

The chase of anything over 100 will be tricky for India, especially with how the pitch is playing. Also with the kind of struggle, Indian openers are having in tough conditions against South African pacers, Virat Kohli becomes a vital cog in the wheel for the team.

India are already 1-0 down in the series and they cannot afford to lose. For them to draw the series, Virat Kohli would hold the key. He needs to bring his best in the chase and help India draw the series. If they manage to do that, it will for the first time they will draw the series in South Africa since 2010.
