IND vs WI: Aakash Chopra Feels Yashasvi Jaiswal Has To Wait For Some Time To Make His T20I Debut

Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra feels that young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal doesn’t fit in the playing XI for the second T20I match against the West Indies. Aakash Chopra highlighted that the Hardik Pandya-led team should stick with the same line-up for the next match.
The Men in Blue suffered a four-run loss in the series opener. The team management backed Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill as openers for the first T20I. However, both batters failed to impress with the bat and were dismissed for 6 runs and 3 runs, respectively, in Trinidad.
Where Will He Play? – Aakash Chopra
In a video shared on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra emphasized that Sanju Samson might bat at No. 3 in the batting lineup for the second game.
“Can there be a change from the Indian team’s viewpoint? It has been a point of discussion that Sanju Samson should come at No. 3, and SKY (Suryakumar Yadav) should be moved to No. 4, Tilak Varma to No. 5 or No. 6 and Hardik (Pandya) at No. 5,” Chopra said.
“Why should you do that? It’s going fine the way it is. In my opinion, there isn’t a lot of scope for change. Only one batter is sitting outside, that is Yashasvi Jaiswal. You want to play Yashasvi Jaiswal but where will he play?” he added.
The Same Team Can Play Here – Aakash Chopra
Aakash Chopra emphasized the importance of backing the players after just one bad performance and predicted the same Playing XI for the second game.
“Should you change the team after one match, unless you see the pitch and it has a lot of grass, so you play all fast bowlers, or else it is an extremely turning pitch, so you drop a fast bowler,” he further added.
“Other than that, why would you make a change in the XI? So if everybody is fit and available for selection, I feel India will play an identical team. I am not even saying almost identical. The team that played in the last match, the same team can play here,” he concluded.
The team management fielded three spinners according to the conditions and two pacers. However, the long tail in the opening match had an impact on the outcome. They might consider bringing an extra batter in place of one of the spinners.
