Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra feels that the Hardik Pandya-led team is likely to field without making any changes in the fourth T20I against the West Indies. Aakash Chopra stated that the team management should stick with the same playing XI from the last match.

The Men in Blue started the ongoing five-match T20I series with back-to-back losses. However, the visitors bounced back to win the third game. Team management made two changes to their lineup in the previous game, with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Kuldeep Yadav included.

Have Given Only One Chance To Yashasvi Jaiswal – Aakash Chopra

In a video shared on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra highlighted that Yashasvi Jaiswal should not be dropped after just one match.

“I am not seeing a change in the Indian team and they shouldn’t make a change as well. Kuldeep Yadav has become fit, so he is playing and is coming after picking up three wickets in the last match.”

“You have given only one chance to Yashasvi Jaiswal. So whether he scores runs today or doesn’t, you should play him in both today’s and tomorrow’s match, otherwise what’s the point?”

Yashasvi Jaiswal made his debut in the third T20I match but failed to make an impact with the bat. The left-handed batter was dismissed for just one run by West Indies pacer Obed McCoy.

Team Will Definitely Play Shubman Gill – Aakash Chopra

Aakash Chopra feels that the team management will back Shubman Gill despite his poor performance in the ongoing series. He said that the batting positions in the middle order can be changed according to the situation.

“There is definitely a slight question mark over Shubman Gill’s name, but I feel the Indian team will definitely play Shubman Gill because he is not going to Ireland in any case. Ishan Kishan is also not going, but I am seeing Shubman Gill opening in the Asia Cup. So you want to give him more opportunities.”

“Suryakumar Yadav at No. 3 and Tilak Varma at No. 4, there is no scope for a change there. Sanju Samson and Hardik Pandya – it will be interesting how the batting order is prepared because there you feel at times why someone has come up or gone down the order.”

Shubman Gill scored only 16 runs in the three matches, with a disappointing average of 5.33 and a strike rate of 55.17. The fourth T20I between India and the West Indies is scheduled to be played in Florida on Saturday, August 12.
