Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma recently appeared in a YouTube show where they revealed that their love story began through online dance classes. Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal is married to Dhanashree Verma.

The couple tied the knot in December 2020 in Gurgaon. The duo are a popular couple on social media and always share interesting videos with their fans. While Yuzvendra Chahal is a key spinner for Team India in ODIs and T20Is, Dhanashree is a dance choreographer and dentist by profession.

Yuzvendra Chahal Met Dhanashree Verma Through Dance Classes

Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma recently appeared in Ranveer Allanbadia’s YouTube show. During the chat show, Chahal revealed that he met his wife on social media and took online dance classes from her.

“I Had DMd her, having seen her dance on TikTok and a number of other reels. I asked her if she gives classes as I had nothing to do in lockdown. I wanted to learn something new. Once I messaged her, we started with online classes. First two months, we didn’t talk about anything else but dance. I didn’t flirt at all. We are not even friends, only had dance-related talks,” Chahal said.

The 32-year-old spinner also revealed how he proposed to Dhanashree for marriage.

“I asked her how are you so happy, even during this phase of lockdown. Then she started to talk about her life. That is where our conversations started. I liked her vibes. She is a self-made woman like I am a self-made man. I told my mom about her, that I like this girl. Then I told her (Dhanashree) I don’t want to date you, I want to marry you. I said that straight away. I was sure. We had a lot of chats,” Chahal further said.

Had No Idea Yuzvendra Chahal Was A Cricketer: Dhanashree Verma

Dhanashree revealed that she had no idea who Yuzvendra Chahal was when he first messaged her. She also said she liked the fact that he was sincere about learning dance.

“I’ve always liked people who are passionate about their passion. I used to watch cricket for a long time but when I stopped watching cricket, he made his India debut. I think, that is a really good thing. When he messaged me that he wanted to take dance classes, I had no clue who Yuzi Chahal was. He was very sincere about dance and I liked it”, Dhanashree said.

Dhanashree, who is a popular figure on social media due to her viral dance videos, said that she loved Yuzvendra Chahal’s decency and direct approach.

“Whenever I would give him homework, he would practice too. He used to send videos, asking where he can do good. This is why the classes lasted for 2 months. Decency is what I loved about him. The way, as a student who he was with him, as a friend who he was with me, and the direct approach, no one does that,” she said on the show”, Mrs. Chahal further added.

Meanwhile, Yuzvendra Chahal will be next seen in India vs West Indies series. The leg spinner is part of the India squad in ODIs and T20I series. The India vs West Indies ODI series commences on July 27, after the completion of the ongoing Test series.

The IND vs WI ODI series will witness three games. The T20I series comprises five matches. For the past few years, Chahal is a permanent spinner for India in both limited-over formats.
