IND vs WI: Twitter Hails Captain Rohit Sharma For Terrific Ton vs West Indies At Dominica

Fans on Twitter lavished praise on the India National Cricket Team captain Rohit Sharma after he smashed a terrific century in the first Test of the two-match series against Kraigg Brathwaite-led West Indies National Cricket Team on July 13 at the Windsor Park, Roseau, Dominica.

The Rohit Sharma-led side lost the toss and were invited to bowl first in the match. However, the invitation worked well for India as Indian spinners – Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja – bowled brilliantly and picked up wickets at regular intervals to bundle out the opposition for 150 runs.

Rohit Sharma led the side very well and made perfect bowling changes during the innings. As India got the opportunity to bat on Day 1 itself, the new opening duo of the team – Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal – batted quite well and looked settled out in the middle against the West Indies bowling attack. Rohit Sharma scored 30 while debutant Jaiswal scored 40 as India finished day 1 on 80 runs.

On Day 2, Rohit Sharma showed great composure and batted patiently, instead of just throwing away his wicket. He took 106 balls to complete his fifty and smashed 4 fours and 2 sixes to complete the milestone.

While Rohit Sharma focused on his batting, he also guided debutant Yashasvi Jaiswal very well and helped him complete his hundred. Just a few over after Jaiswal’s ton, Rohit Sharma hit a boundary off Athanaze to complete his 10th Test Ton and overall second away from home. This was only the sixth time when both Indian openers hit hundreds in the same innings in an away Test.
