IND vs WI: Vikram Rathour Reveals Virat Kohli's Biggest Quality; Says 'He Can Play Different Forms Differently'

Team India batting coach Vikram Rathour feels that Virat Kohli’s biggest quality as a batter is playing different forms differently. Rathour also said that Virat Kohli is a player who can play according to the conditions and team requirements.

Virat Kohli scored a superb knock of 76 runs in recent India vs West Indies 1st Test. However, due to a slow outfield, batters struggled to score boundaries in the match. Even Kohli took 182 deliveries to score 76 runs, hitting just 5 fours during his entire innings. Notably, Kohli scored his first boundary after facing more than 80 deliveries.

Virat Kohli Can Play Different Forms Differently: Vikram Rathour

While speaking in the press conference ahead of India vs West Indies 2nd Test, Indian team batting coach Vikram Rathour praised Virat Kohli for his batting skills. Rathour said Kohli’s biggest quality as a batter is his adaptability.

“As a batting coach, I believe that cricket is about adaptability. He is an aggressive player who likes to dominate definitely but a better player is one who can change his game. A player who can play according to the conditions and team requirements is a better player”.

“This is his biggest quality. He can play different forms differently. He can change his game according to the conditions. He showed it on a wicket that was turning a lot. The way he defended against the left-arm spinner was a lesson for many youngsters,” Rathour said in a press conference ahead of the second Test”, Rathour said.

The former India wicketkeeper also feels that Virat Kohli will soon score another century. He also added that the Indian batting legend has shown good batting form for many years.

“Virat’s good form continued for many years. He scored runs consistently for 7 to 8 years. The cricket logic says that the lean phase was about to come. When he lost momentum it went on for some time. Out of five years, he didn’t score a hundred approximately three of them went in Covid. The games took place in breakages or with restrictions. There is not much to look at because he is batting well. The way he is playing he will score a century,” Rathour further added.

Virat Kohli started this year with two stunning consecutive ODI tons against Sri Lanka. He also shattered a ton against Australia in India vs Australia Test series earlier this year.

Meanwhile, India vs West Indies 2nd Test commences on July 20 (Monday) in Trinidad. India leads the two-match Test series 1-0. Rohit Sharma and Co. won the opening Test by an innings and 141 runs.
