Former India batsman, Wasim Jaffer shared his views on India’s two-wicket loss against West Indies in the second T20I match of the five-game series and said that it is very shocking why Yuzvendra Chahal did not come to bowl his fourth over.

While talking to ESPNcricinfo, Jaffer showed his concern towards the Men in Blues and asked why Yuzvendra Chahal was not given a chance to deliver his final over. Jaffer also asked why Axar Patel was not given the opportunity to bowl during that period.

“Very surprising, especially with Chahal not bowling his fourth over, and even Axar Patel not bowling during that period. So, very surprised,” Wasim said on Yuzvendra Chahal’s final over spell.

Jaffer further said that Yuzvendra Chahal will come to bowl in the 18th over or maybe in the 19th over and admitted that he was shocked by Hardik Pandya’s decision.

“I thought he will bowl the 18th over, but he should have at least bowled the 19th over, definitely,” Jaffer said on Yuzvendra Chahal.

Jaffer also praised Nicholas Pooran and said that he is one of the best batsmen currently in the world with the confidence he has now.

“Without a doubt. With the kind of form and confidence that he is in at the moment, he is definitely one of the best batters going around right now,” Jaffer said.

Yuzvendra Chahal’s stunning 16th over spell helped India to get back in the match

Yuzvendra Chahal delivered only three overs in the 2nd T20I match against West Indies but his 16th over spell helped India to dismiss Jason Holder and Shimron Hetmyer.

Holder and Hetmyer were at their top-most form in the match but Chahal managed to show the way out of the crease. In the fourth ball, Holder was dismissed and in the sixth ball, Hetmyer had to leave the crease. In his three-over spell, Yuzvendra Chahal scalped two wickets and gave away 19 runs.

Hardik Pandya-led India will square off against Rovman Powell’s West Indies in the third T20I match on Tuesday (August 08) at Providence Stadium, Guyana. The match will kick off at 8:00 PM IST.
