IND vs WI: Watch- Ishan Kishan Instructs Virat Kohli On The Field On His Test Debut

Ishan Kishan made his much-awaited Test debut on Wednesday (July 12) in the ongoing first Test against West Indies in Dominica. The wicketkeeper-batsman was a part of the Test squad for the home series against Australia earlier this year as well as the World Test Championship final but could only warm the bench as the team preferred KS Bharat.

Having already played for India in white-ball formats, Ishan Kishan did not show any nerves and it was very much evident from the way he was directing the players including his senior teammate and former captain Virat Kohli. The youngster looked confident and enthusiastic as he tried to make an impact in his first-ever Test.

The stump mic caught a confident Ishan Kishan telling his teammates where to stand on the field. And the video of the incident has gone viral on social media. In the clip, Kishan is heard adjusting the field, telling Kohli and Yashasvi Jaiswal: “Virat bhai, thoda sa sidha bas. Yash thoda sidha [Virat, Yash please move a bit straighter].”

Kishan tried his best to make sure that the team does not miss the services of Rishabh Pant as he was also heard making weird noises out of excitement.

Talking about Ishan Kishan’s performance, he picked up two good catches as India bowled out West Indies for just 150. He first took a diving catch to send back Raymon Reifer before taking a sharp catch to dismiss Joshua Da Silva.

As far as the match is concerned, India have put themselves in the driver’s seat. After Ravichandran Ashwin’s five-wicket haul helped India bowl out West Indies for just 150, they finished the day on 80 for no loss.
