Even Virat Kohli struggled to score runs at a healthy rate in the ongoing first IND vs WI Test in Dominica. Team India players are no strangers to playing on slow and turning tracks. India is full of such pitches but even their star players struggled to get doing on the sluggish pitch at Windsor Park.
Batting first, West Indies were bowled out for a paltry total of 150 runs with Ravichandran Ashwin picking up five wickets. In reply, India have replied strongly with the bat but their batsmen could not score the runs at the pace they would have liked. India have scored at a run rate of 2.76 so far. At the end of the second day, the visitors were on 312 for 2 after 113 overs.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma led the charge with the bat for Team India as the openers scored centuries and shared a 229-run stand for the first wicket. And both of them could only maintain a strike rate in the 40s for the most part of their innings. Rohit departed after scoring 103 runs off 221 balls while Jaiswal in unbeaten on 143 off 350 balls.
Virat Kohli celebrates his first boundary:
Shubman Gill failed to get going. Batting at number three in Tests for the first time, the right-handed batsman could score only 6 runs off 11 balls before Jomel Warrican sent him back. But before West Indies could capitalize on the twin breakthroughs, Jaiswal and Virat Kohli steadied the ship for India.

And while they were batting in the middle, a hilarious incident involving Virat Kohli took place. The former India skipper also struggled to score runs at a good pace on the slow and dry pitch. And it took him as many as 81 balls to hit his first four of the innings.
Warrican bowled a flighted delivery outside the off stump and the right-handed batsman came up with a fine drive to hit his first four. And as the ball went to the boundary, Kohli was seen celebrating it with a few fist pumps.
Here is a clip of the incident:
Calling it a night! That celebration by @imVkohli after hitting his first boundary on the 81st ball.
