Former India cricketer Robin Singh picked his favorites for the semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2024 between India and England. He believes that the Rohit Sharma-led side hasvethe upper hand as they have all the bases covered.

India and England are all set to clash with each other in the semi-final of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. The match between the Rohit Sharma-led side and the defending champions is all set to take place on Thursday (27th June) at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.

Both India and England clashed in the semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2022 and it saw the Jos Buttler-led side thumping the Men in Blue by 10 wickets. However, after that World Cup, India under Rohit Sharma have been sensational and have adopted a completely different brand of cricket.

In the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024, India has been unbeaten so far. The Rohit Sharma-led side have played a terrific brand of cricket and despite the conditions being tough for batting they have managed to find the way and win, beating all the opposition by fine margins so far.

England on the other hand has been put in a spot of bother a few times in the tournament but each time they were under pressure, they came up with a dominating show. They too would be high on confidence and would want to make the second final in a row.

With the game between the two teams around the corner, Robin Singh pointed out India's bowling combination and claimed that they would be better suited on Guyana's pitch. He stated that Rohit Sharma and Co need to counter Adil Rashid and Jofra Archer as then England will under pressure. Speaking to IANS, he explained:

"I still think India has an upper hand on this venue. The bowling combination that India possesses actually would suit this venue much more than England. The important factor for England is probably Jofra Archer and Adil Rashid. If Indiacan counter those two guys, I think we can make some inroads into this England bowling attack.

"From an Indian perspective, I think they've got most bases covered. The spinners have bowled well, they have really good attacking bowlers in the middle, and Kuldeep Yadav has done exceptionally well. The two other spinners (Axar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja) have been really steady."

Robin Singh further talked about how important Jasprit Bumrah has been in the T20 World Cup 2024. He claimed that during the last semi-final of the T20 World Cup, the conditions were different and this time around the surface will suit India more than the defending champions. Speaking about the same, he elaborated:

"Of course, you have the Bumrah factor, as he's someone who can bowl at any stage of the game. So that's going to be another key component, as well as the other fast bowlers who have stepped up. So, it's going to be fun actually. It's not just about one bowler, but its about having a combination of bowlers who can put pressure on the batsmen that allows the other bowler to actually maximize.

"At the end of the day, it's a collective effort, and it doesn't matter who gets wickets, right? But it's important as a team to strangle opponents. Bumrah has made a massive difference already and that goes without saying. So what is important is to understand that the conditions are very different to what it was in 2022. I think India has the armory and they have the team to suit these conditions far better than England," he concluded
