India will take on South Africa in the second of the five-match T20I series. This article provides details about India's Playing 11 vs South Africa for the second match of the series.
India Playing XI vs South Africa- 2nd T20I, South Africa Tour of India 2025:
Openers: Abhishek Sharma, Shubman Gill
India would look to continue the good work that the home team did in the first T20I against South Africa and register another win in the second game of the five-match series.
The Men in Blue were clinical with the ball while defending a score of 175 runs against a strong South African batting lineup.
Having said that, the story was a bit different with the bat for the Suryakumar Yadav-led side as it did not get off to a great start by losing a couple of wickets in the powerplay, which became five soon after.
It took a quick-fire half-century from the bat of Hardik Pandya, who was returning after missing the previous T20I assignment against Australia, to bail the team out of trouble and take them to a fighting total.
The defending T20 World Cup winners would hope to put on an improved performance with the bat at a ground which is known to be a high-scoring one, as far as T20 cricket is concerned.
For that to happen, the team will rely on the opening pair of Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill to get the team off to a good start in the first six overs.
Along with batting well in partnership, both batters would also be backed to make significant contributions individually, which wasn't the case in the previous match.
Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: Suryakumar Yadav (c), Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube, Jitesh Sharma (wk), Axar Patel
If we talk about the composition of India's middle order for the upcoming game, it is expected to be the same as the previous game, with Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma batting at number three and four, respectively.
The duo will be followed by three all-rounders in the form of Axar Patel, who, in all likelihood, will be used as a floater if the team loses early wickets, as it did in the first game with Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube batting at number six and seven.
However, the batting order might change depending on the situation of the game and according to the bowling combination of the opponent.
Pandya and Dube will be joined by wicketkeeper batter Jitesh Sharma, who played his part in the last over of India's batting innings and was excellent behind the stumps as well.
Bowlers: Jasprit Bumrah, Varun Chakaravarthy, Arshdeep Singh
As far as the bowling attack is concerned, it is a force to be reckoned with in the presence of Jasprit Bumrah, Varun Chakaravarthy, and Arshdeep Singh.
The trio of bowlers who were on top of their game in the last match would want to have a good outing in back-to-back matches.
The above-mentioned bowlers will be supported by Hardik Pandya, who contributed with the ball as well by picking up a wicket, and Axar Patel, who also succeeded in clinching a couple of wickets
The bowling lineup would hope for a similar performance that it came up with in the first T20I.
