The match marks the second encounter between the two teams after the Pahalgam terror attack in the Indian province of Kashmir. The first meeting marked India successfully winning the game easily with 7 wickets remaining. Kuldeep Yadav picked up a 3-for and was declared the Player of the Match.

When BCCI vice-president Rejeev Shukla was questioned over picking sides for the upcoming clash, he extended his support for Suryakumar Yadav's team. Without any hesitation, he clearly stated (as quoted by TOI), "India will win the match."

Can Pakistan use the recent humiliation as motivation to avenge defeat against India?

Pakistan was humiliated in their last fixture against India. Not only were they defeated by a huge margin, but the no-handshake row also led to some further disgust for the Pakistan Cricket Board.

Pakistan made several attempts to secure sanctions against match officials in the Asia Cup tournament; however, their repeated pleas were rejected by the ICC. These incidents might influence both teams' approach to the upcoming match.

India might be looking forward to continuing their aggressive brand of cricket in the Asian tournament, while Pakistan, on the other hand, might be seen in their unpredictable form. They might use these controversies as a recent motivation to win against the opposition.

Rajeev Shukla confirms former cricketer as next BCCI President

The Presidential elections for the BCCI are underway, and it is currently being speculated that another former Indian cricketer is expected to be elected as the next BCCI captain after Roger Binny was snubbed from the position.

After several candidates filed their nominations for the various BCCI posts, including the president, vice-president, IPL chairman, and more, the decision seemed to have been made within the board. Rajeev Shukla has confirmed that former Delhi cricketer Mithun Manhas is all set to be appointed as the board president.

He has also revealed that Arun Dhumal is expected to resume his role as the IPL governing council chairman, and Rajeev Shukla will continue as the vice-president of the board.
