After registering their first-ever Test win against Australia, India Women’s team are set to face Australia Women in the white-ball leg which includes three ODIs and three T20Is. India Women’s Selection Committee has announced the ODI and T20 squad for the series against Australia with Harmanpreet Kaur leading the side in both formats.

The Women In Blue will be looking to take revenge for their defeat from last year when Australia emerged victorious against them. Alyssa Healy will be leading the Australian side and she has previously led the team to a series win against India.  Alyssa Healy was pretty confident of winning the one-off test but her hopes were shattered by Harmanpreet Kaur and co who registered their first-ever Test match win against Australia by eight wickets.

Australia Women won the five-match T20I series against India in December 2022 by 4-1. Alyssa Healy led the side to a dominating series win with the only win for Women in Blue coming in a Super Over. Harmanpreet Kaur and Co. will be looking to win both the ODI and T20I series against Australia this time to make up for the defeat last year.

The Wankhede stadium in Mumbai will host the three ODIs between India Women and Australia Women with the first ODI to be played on the 28th of December. The action will then move to the D.Y.Patil stadium in Navi Mumbai for the T20I series. All the matches of the tour have been scheduled in Mumbai. India won the one-off Test against Australia at Wankhede which was the first-ever win for the Women’s team against Australia in Test cricket.

India Women’s squad for Australia ODI and T20I announced:

The three-match ODI series will commence on December 28 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The second ODI will be played at the same venue on 30th December which will be followed by the third ODI on January 2. The three-match T20I series will be played at the D.Y.Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai with the first one to commence on January 5. The second and third T20I will be played on January 7 and January 9 respectively.

The ODI squad and T20I squad are almost the same for Team India with only two changes between formats. Harleen Deol and Sneh Rana will be playing in the ODI series whereas Minnu Mani and Kanika Ahuja have been selected for the T20I series.  Smriti Mandhana will be Harmanpreet Kaur’s deputy in both series. The Women In Blue hasn’t had a successful outing recently against England in the T20I series where they suffered defeat by 2-1.
