According to the most recent ICC Test rankings, the Indian team has risen to the top of the Test rankings. The most recent Test rating was announced on Tuesday (January 17), and Rohit Sharma and his blokes are currently at the top of the chart.
The Indian team has surpassed Australia, who will visit India for a four-match Test series beginning in February. India now holds the highest podium position with 3690 points and 115 rating points (from 32 matches). After 29 matches, Australia now has 111 rating points and 3231 points.

England (106 Rating) is third, with New Zealand (100) and South Africa (85) rounding out the top five. In the Test format, eleven countries are ranked, with Zimbabwe at the bottom of the list.
Wins Against Sri Lanka And Bangladesh Propel Indian Team To The Top Of ICC Tests Rankings
Last year, the Indian team finished strongly in the longest format. The Indian squad won the Test series in Sri Lanka earlier this year, and they also won the series versus Bangladesh.

Australia also performed admirably in the 2022 Tests. They defeated the West Indies and South Africa in a series. However, their penultimate encounter against the Proteas was disrupted by weather, which resulted in a tie, giving the Aussies a clean whitewash opportunity.
It also had an impact on their ratings. India won both matches against Bangladesh, considerably raising their rating, something the Aussies did not do owing to the stalemate.
India is also the world’s top T20I team, and they have a chance to become the top ODI team in the forthcoming New Zealand ODI series.
Australia, on the other hand, will have the opportunity to reclaim the top rank when they fly to India for the four-match Border Gavaskar series. Both teams now hold the top two rankings in the WTC and are set to compete in the final of the current WTC cycle.
