IPL 2021 is set to start next month with the first match scheduled to be played on April 9, 2021. Mumbai Indians (MI) will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai in the first match of IPL 2021. The T20 domestic cricket tournament of India will witness nail-biting cricket matches between all eight participant teams.

Only six venues have been finalised to host the matches in IPL 2021. Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmadabad will host the playoffs and the final matches. No team will have the home advantage in IPL 2021 during the group stage. Spectators are not allowed for the initial games but a decision will be taken later during the tournament to allow spectators inside the stadium.

IPL tournaments observe the teams piling up a lot of runs on the scoreboard. Many players have been like a run-machine for their teams, scoring a lot of runs in the tournaments. Hitting sixes is considered a big achievement in the Indian Premier League.

Gautam Gambhir holds the 5th spot for hitting most boundaries in the Indian Premier League. Gautam Gambhir has hit 491 boundaries in IPL in 152 innings. Gautam Gambhir has scored 4217 in his IPL career.  The left-handed batsman played for Delhi Daredevils from IPL 2008 to 2010.

From IPL 2011 to IPL 2017, he was part of the Kolkata Knight Riders. Under his captainship, Kolkata Knight Riders won two IPL titles in 2012 and 2014. In IPL 2018, Gautam Gambhir moved to Delhi Daredevils. He retired from cricket after the tournament. Gambhir is an active cricket commentator currently.
