IPL 2021 Auction: Shakib Al Hasan Sold To Kolkata Knight Riders For INR 3.20 Crores

Ace Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has set his price at INR 2 crores for IPL 2021 auction and made a comeback to international cricket after two years. Shakib Al Hasan faced a ban from top-level cricket for failing to report corrupt approaches. Bangladesh undoubtedly felt boosted by his return as he is a genuine match-winner across facets.

As for the 33-year old, he would likely be on the radar of many teams, especially the ones targetting all-rounders and competent middle-order batsmen. The left-arm spinner has featured for Kolkata Knight Riders and SunRisers Hyderabad, managing 59 wickets in 63 matches while also scoring 746 runs at 21.31 with a strike rate of 126.66. Furthermore, being an experienced player, a captain could also rely on him for advice.

Shakib Al Hasan was in the red-hot form before the ICC slapped him with a two-year ban, mainly in the 2019 World Cup as he displayed a groundbreaking performance. In only eight matches, the southpaw accumulated 606 runs at 86.57 with five fifties and two centuries while maintaining a strike rate of 96.04. Shakib also averaged a daunting 56.50 in the recent three-match ODI series against the West Indies.

Thus, the veteran Bangladesh cricketer would be in demand as franchises certainly need players who not only have apt all-round skills but also ones who step up for their teams when they need the most.
