With the 2023 season of IPL just a few days away, players from all around the globe are flying in for their teams’ practice session. Virat Kohli arrived at the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) camp for his training session of the season yesterday, and the crowd couldn’t help but chorus his name.

Ahead of IPL 2023, every team has set up training camps in their home stadiums, This will help players from all levels and nations to gel together before the tournament starts. RCB is no different, having set up a camp at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

These sessions are usually open to fans, and teams have taken to social media to show the presence of a few hundred fans present in stands to see their favourite stars practice. But each team does not have a player with the popularity of Virat Kohli, who must now be used to listening to a chorus of his name every time he steps onto the ground, for a match or otherwise.

A video surfaced online of the Ex-India captain of him coming onto the field, and how the crowd erupts as soon as he arrives.

Concerns remain over Glenn Maxwell’s fitness ahead of IPL 2023

After months of speculation, it was confirmed some time back that Glenn Maxwell would be ready to play for RCB in IPL 2023, but his health is still a concern for the side.

The Aussie all-rounder broke his leg in a “freak accident” at a birthday party last November. He fractured the fibula in his left leg and had to undergo surgery. Having been sidelined for 3 months following his injury, Maxwell only recently made an on-field return.

It seems, however, that the explosive Australian batter is not 100%, as he revealed in a discussion with RCB website.

“The legs are okay. It’s alright. It’s still going to be a couple of months before I am at my 100% but hopefully, it is good enough to get through this tournament and still do the job,” said Maxwell.

Glenn Maxwell is a crucial piece to the RCB puzzle. Having scored over 800 runs in the last two IPL seasons combined, he holds down the middle order and accelerates the run-rate in the otherwise slow middle overs.

It would be interesting to see how many matches will Maxwell play for RCB in IPL 2023. With the ODI World Cup coming down the year, would the Aussie play all matches, or conserve his body for WC? It remains to be seen.
