Delhi Capitals will aim for a comeback in IPL 2024 after their poor show last season. The franchise finished in the 9th spot in the points table in IPL 2023, remaining far away from the playoffs. Ahead of the tournament, the Delhi Capitals will also participate in the IPL 2024 auction next month to grab some strong players in their squad.
IPL 2024 auction will take place in Dubai next month on December 19. Ahead of the auction, BCCI has asked all the IPL franchises to prepare their retention lists. Rishabh Pant is the captain of Delhi Capitals. Last season, he could not participate in the auction after suffering injuries in a car accident. He has missed almost one year of action- both for Delhi Capitals and Team India. However, he will be back on the team in the next season.
Rishabh Pant is a crucial player for Delhi Capitals. He is also a powerful wicketkeeper-batsman for India, who features in all three formats. After his recovery, Rishabh Pant is gearing up to arrive on the field. Delhi Capitals will retain him as the skipper in the next season too.
2. Axar Patel
Like Rishabh Pant, Axar Patel is another DC player who also plays for Team India on a regular basis. Last season, Patel was a star performer for the team. In 14 games, he slammed 283 runs at a strike rate of 139+.
With the ball, the left-arm spinner picked 11 wickets for the team at 7.19 economy. Axar Patel is a key all-rounder for Delhi Capitals and it will not be a good idea to release him from the squad ahead of next season.

Kuldeep Yadav is another player who will be part of Delhi Capitals’ retention list for IPL 2024. After his comeback to the national team, Kuldeep Yadav cemented his place as the primary spinner for India. He is also part of the ICC World Cup 2023 for Team India.
The left-arm spinner gave a fabulous performance this year. He is the leading wicket-taker for India in ODIs. He could only grab 10 wickets in IPL 2023 last season at 7.36 economy. However, he was among the top five wicket-takers in the 2022 season. Yadav is one of the premier spinners in Indian cricket and he will be a key member of Delhi Capitals in IPL 2024.
