IPL 2024: Virat Kohli Or Gautam Gambhir? Parthiv Patel Picks The More Aggressive Player

Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir have been involved in a lot of fights against each other over the years. The most recent of them was seen in IPL 2023 during the match between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore. They have had a lot of heat between each other, especially in the IPL starting way back in 2013 when Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir had a heated exchange on the field.

Both the Delhi batters have established an estranged relationship over the years. However, they had a healthy friendship before 2013 and have also made important contributions to the Indian team together as batting partners. Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir stitched an important 83-run partnership during the ICC Cricket World Cup finals in 2011.

Parthiv Patel recently talked about the difference between the two aggressive Delhi boys and said that both the players are polite but Virat’s aggression is slightly more than that of Gambhir’s. Parthiv Patel has played a lot of cricket with both Virat and Gambhir. He was a part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore when Virat used to lead the side whereas he has shared the Indian dressing room with Gambhir on numerous occasions.

“On the ground and off the ground. Virat is very polite. Gautam is also very polite. I mean, when you are playing cricket, when you want to win games for your country, there’s obviously some kind of aggression that comes in. But we all love Virat Kohli. The way he celebrates and stuff. He inspires a lot of them. I’ve played a lot of cricket with Gautam but I would say Virat’s rather slightly more aggressive,” Parthiv said.

Virat Kohli And Gautam Gambhir Used To Have A Good Relationship Before 2013

The two Delhi batters used to have a healthy relationship between them before their on-field feud in the 2013 IPL match between RCB and KKR. In 2009, after a match-winning effort, scoring 150 against Sri Lanka, Gautam Gambhir decided to give his Player of The Match Award to Virat who scored his first-ever century in that match. However, everything between these two players changed in 2013.

Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli had two more altercations in the IPL in 2016 and 2023 respectively. Their recent altercation in 2023 caught a lot of attention from the fans as the latter is the most followed cricketer in the World. When Gautam Gambhir-led Kolkata Knight Riders bundled RCB for their lowest total in IPL of 49, Gambhir’s aggressive celebration was there for everyone to see.

The two of them have had a lot of altercations with each other over the years but have also contributed to Indian cricket a lot. Virat Kohli has been India’s batting maestro and an icon in World cricket for a very long time whereas no one can forget Gambhir’s contribution in the finals of T20 World Cup 2007 and ODI World Cup 2011.

It is true that in terms of aggression both of them are almost equal but Virat is slightly more aggressive than Gambhir.
