IPL 2025: Full IPL Schedule Officially Announced

Indian Premier League governing council on Sunday (16th February) announced the schedule for the 2025 edition of the league. IPL 2025 is all set to begin on 22nd March, with defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) taking on Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the tournament opener.

The first game of the Indian Premier League 2025 will be played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. On the second day of the tournament, two matches will be played, with runner-ups of last year Sunrisers Hyderabad in action in the afternoon game against the winners of the inaugural edition of the league in Rajasthan Royals at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

CSK vs MI match to take place on 23rd March at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai

The evening game will see the two most successful franchises of the IPL, Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings taking on each other at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. CSK vs MI match will also see the return of MS Dhoni after a year. The reverse fixture will be played on 20th April at Wankhede Stadium.

Another big clash of the IPL 2025 will be between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Chennai Super Kings. The game will be taking place at the Chepauk Stadium on 23rd March while the reverse fixture is slated to take place at M Chinnaswamy Stadium on May 3rd.

A total of 13 venues will be hosting the IPL 2025. The venues are Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Lucknow, Mullanpur, Delhi, Jaipur Kolkata and Hyderabad, Guwahati (second venue for RR), Dharamsala (second venue for Punjab Kings) and Vizag (second venue for DC).

IPL 2025 playoffs will be played from 20th May to 25th May

For the first time in a very long, Punjab Kings will be playing three of their home matches in Dharamsala. PBKS in the previous years played just two games in a season at the picturesque venue in Himachal Pradesh. The rest of their four remaining games will be played at Mullanpur in Punjab.

Delhi Capitals will be opening their campaign against Lucknow Super Giants on Monday (24th March) in Vizag. While Gujarat Titans will be playing their first against Punjab Kings at their home ground in Narendra Modi International Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad.

IPL 2025 playoffs will be played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad and the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. While Qualifier 1 and Eliminator will be taking place in Hyderabad on the 20th and 21st of May respectively, Qualifier 2, along with the final, is scheduled to take place at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on May 23rd and 25th respectively.
