India’s chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav has set social media abuzz with his sarcastic yet fiery attack on the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). He rubbed the salt in the franchise’s wound of not being able to win an Indian Premier League (IPL) title since its inception.
Recently, Kuldeep Yadav discussed his love for football and his support for FC Barcelona during a YouTube podcast, where an RCB fan trolled the Indian spinner. The Royal Challengers Bengaluru fan humorously suggested that Kuldeep should join the RCB as a goalkeeper, referencing the franchise's footballing culture.
Kuldeep Yadav schools RCB fan with perfect response
A user named RCB management took to the 'Super Chat' section to comment by saying, “Kuldeep bhai, RCB me aa jao, ek goalkeeper ki jarurat hai. (Kuldeep bro, please join RCB; we need one goalkeeper)” during the live YouTube broadcast.
This didn’t go down well with the Delhi Capitals (DC) spinner, and he has given the RCB fam a taste of his own medicine. Kuldeep clapped back in style, as he subtly pointed out RCB’s long-standing drought of an IPL title. His witty reply left fans in splits and became an instant hit on the internet.
Delivering the perfect googly to the RCB fan, the left-arm spinner responded by saying, “Tumhe goalkeeper ki nahi, trophy ki jarurat hai mere bhai. Goalkeeper kya karoge? You don't need a goalkeeper. You need a trophy. What will you do with a goalkeeper?”

Notably, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru had the chance to win the IPL back in 2016, but they fell short, losing to SunRisers Hyderabad in the final. In the recent season, RCB has consistently made it to the playoffs but is still waiting to win their first IPL trophy.
For IPL 2025, RCB hasn’t officially announced their captain yet, but it is being said that Virat Kohli is likely to take up the role again. Virat Kohli will return to action in the upcoming ODI series against England after his dismal performance in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.

Kuldeep Yadav set to return to action with England ODIs
Meanwhile, Kuldeep Yadav has been named in India's squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against England, which kicks off on February 6, and the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The left-arm spinner has been out of action since undergoing hernia surgery in November 2024.
Over the past few months, Kuldeep has been steadily regaining his fitness and building his bowling rhythm at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. It is being said that Kuldeep has been bowling long spells of 10-12 overs during practice, which hints at his readiness for return.
Notably, Kuldeep was retained by the Delhi Capitals for a hefty INR 13.25 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. The 30-year-old had won the IPL trophy with the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2014. Now, the spinner is aiming to help Delhi Capitals to win their maiden IPL title this season.
