As almost half of the matches in the ongoing IPL 2025 season have been played, the former Indian cricketer and cricket pundit Kris Srikkanth has already unveiled his top 4 teams. Kris Srikkanth’s selections have been quite shocking, given the current standings of the teams.

The former Indian chief selector has picked Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru as his top 4 picks for the ongoing IPL 2025. However, Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru have been performing brilliantly, but Srikkanth’s decision to select struggling Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings surprised many.

While DC and RCB are sitting in the second and third places, respectively, with eight points each in the IPL 2025 points, CSK is presently the bottom-ranked side, and MI jumped to the eighth spot after beating Delhi in their latest game in the tournament.

DC lost only one of their five games, while RCB faced two defeats from their eight games so far in the tournament. On the other hand, CSK suffered five defeats in a row after winning their season opener, while MI won only two of their six matches so far in the competition.

Srikkanth is confident that both Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings can bounce back and finish strong alongside RCB and DC this season. He also said that MI and CSK are his favorite teams.

On being asked to pick his top 4 on his YouTube channel Cheeky Cheeka, Kris Srikkanth said, “RCB, DC. I still believe MI and CSK will bounce back. MI, CSK, RCB, DC. Why should I give up on my favorite teams, MI and CSK (laughing)? RCB will also come there.”

Meanwhile, Kris Srikkanth has criticized Ravichandran Ashwin for his poor bowling performance for the Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2025. Srikkanth said that he always supported Ashwin for years, but now he feels it’s time to drop him from the playing XI so he can realize the importance of his spot.

Ashwin has been struggling to deliver this season, managing only five wickets in six matches. His bowling average stands at 39.60, and his economy rate has gone up to 9.90.

Kris Srikkanth asks CSK to drop Ravichandran Ashwin from the Playing XI

Srikkanth said on his YouTube show, “Ashwin is bowling terribly. He’s bowling very, very poorly. I’m not sure if Ashwin will be in the XI for the next game after bowling like this. If you ask me, drop him. Ravindra Jadeja isn’t at his peak. Ashwin is bowling terribly. I want him dropped. But I’m not sure if CSK will actually go through with it.”

The cricket pundit added, “LSG, their next opponents, have quite a few left-handers. It remains to be seen whether CSK will make a bold call and leave him out. I’ve always backed Ashwin. But now, I want him dropped. Let him sit out for a couple of matches—only then will he understand the value of his place. Only then will he come back stronger.”
