India cricketer Piyush Chawla hilariously accused young Chennai Super Kings batter Sameer Rizvi of age-fudging. The Mumbai Indians leg-spinner came up with a taunt when he was told by the host of the show that the 20-year-old takes inspiration from Rohit Sharma.

Sameer Rizvi, no doubt, is one of the most exciting young talents in Indian cricket. The Uttar Pradesh batter has made himself a huge name in domestic cricket because of his power-hitting ability and has played some of the finest innings for his team.

Sameer Rizvi, 20y 281d, was acquired by Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League for a huge price. The young batter made a decent impact in the league for the team in the limited opportunities that he got. He mostly came down the order and hit big sixes for his team, impressing many with his skills.

Sameer Rizvi then also made a great impact in the Uttar Pradesh Premier League. Playing for Kanpur Superstars, he played some glorious knocks for his team and was among the top run-getters in the tournament with over 250 runs to his name in the league stage of the tournament.

Sameer Rizvi recently attended the podcast of Shubhankar Mishra, and he said that India captain Rohit Sharma is his inspiration. The journalist then, in a podcast with Mumbai Indians leg-spinner Piyush Chawla, told him about the batter's inspiration.

However, as mentioned, that youngster takes inspiration from Rohit Sharma. But as he mentioned his age, Piyush Chawla came up with a cheeky response, hilariously accusing him of age fudging.

Rohit Sharma is not a captain - Piyush Chawla makes huge remarks

Piyush Chawla also went on to lavish rich praise on India captain Rohit Sharma, saying that the opening batter is a bowler's captain. He highlighted how the captain led from the front in the ODI World Cup 2023 and T20 World Cup 2024.

Piyush Chawla also hailed Rohit Sharma as a great leader and mentioned that he has played a lot of cricket with him, and they both share a comfort level. Speaking about the same, he explained:

"Look, if I talk about Rohit when the World Cup was going on. When I was doing commentary, I also said that there is a captain, there is a leader. Rohit Sharma is not a captain, he's a leader. He set the example. If you see, whether it's the 2023 50-over World Cup.Whether it's the T20 World Cup.

"The way Rohit used to bat, he used to set such a tone on top that things used to be a little easier for the coming people. So Rohit Sharma is a bowler's captain. But he's a true leader. He gives you a free hand. And I've played so much cricket with him. So I have a little comfort level. It's not like we're just meeting on the ground," he concluded.
