"IPL Madness": Twitter Reacts As Gujarat Titans Retain Hardik Pandya Amid Reports Of Mumbai Indians Switch

Gujarat Titans skipper Hardik Pandya has been retained by the franchise during the IPL 2024 retentions on Sunday. There were previous reports of Hardik moving to Mumbai Indians in an all-cash deal. However, now all that has been put to rest after the Titans released their final list of retained players.

Hardik Pandya, Shubman Gill, and Rashid Khan were the three big names in the list of retained players. There were reports of Hardik having differences with the Titans management and expressing his desire to move to Mumbai officials.

There were talks of Pandya being looked at as a potential captain for Mumbai Indians after Rohit Sharma. The thought of getting him back in was on the same lines but it turned out to be otherwise.

Hardik thus is very much central to Gujarat’s plans heading into the IPL 2024. He has been a good leader for the franchise winning the title in their debut season and making it to the finals the next season.

Newspapers and the leading cricket website of India reported that Hardik’s move to Mumbai is almost certain but now the management has put to rest all the rumors regarding the same.

Hardik Pandya last played international cricket for India during the World Cup. However, he was unfortunately ruled out with a hamstring injury after the league stage game against Bangladesh.

He is recovering from his injury and is not a part of the ongoing T20I series against Australia. He is likely to make a comeback during the IPL 2024. Meanwhile, for now, putting doubts to rest Pandya will continue to play for the Gujarat Titans for one more season at least.
