In the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) match no.63 between the Chennai Super Kings and the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The Orange Army does a double over Ruturaj Gaikwad’s side as they hang by a thread for the playoff race after this loss. SRH won the game by 5 wickets. With the win, they confirmed the playoff birth and also led the Gujarat Titans to qualify with them.
Ruturaj Gaikwad won the toss and opted to bat first. They made one change with Gurjanpeet Singh going out as Akeal Hosein came in. Pat Cummins, on the other hand, did not make any changes. It was a must-win game for both franchises, but the home side failed. The game was a good one as the fans appeared in large numbers.
IPL 2026: CSK vs SRH Match Result:
After opting to bat first, Gaikwad and Sanju Samson had an aggressive start to the game. The latter was the aggressor between the two and played strokes all around the ground, but was dismissed on the score of 27 off 13 deliveries by Cummins. Urvil Patel smacked two sixes of the first three balls he faced.
Urvil was trying to hit every ball out of the park but was outfoxed by a slower delivery from Sakib Hussain as the batter’s stumps were rattled, and he was back for the score of 13 off 8 balls. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Kartik Sharma then stitched a partnership after two quick wickets. But the latter was back scoring 32 runs.
Ruturaj soon followed with a low score of 15 runs off 21 deliveries, failing to hit a single boundary in the match, as his counterpart Pat Cummins picked his wicket. CSK were struggling at 100/4, from where Dewald Brevis and Shivam Dube chose to change their gears. Brevis scored 44 off 27 balls, and Dube scored 26 runs.
The Men in Yellow could post a total of 180/7 in their 20 overs, with Prashant Veer scoring 11 runs in 9 deliveries and Akeal Hosein, who faced one ball, scoring three runs.
Coming out to chase, Abhishek Sharma was off to a flying start. He was the aggressor as Travis Head fell for just 6 runs. Ishan Kishan and Abhishek then stitched the partnership, but the run flow was stopped as the wicket got slower and the CSK bowlers bowled tighter lines and did not let both Southpaws free their hands.
As the pressure was building, Abhishek lost his wicket for the score of 26 runs. Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen stitched a 50 partnership in 28 balls. They built a 75-run partnership between them before the South Africa batter was back, scoring 47 runs off 26 deliveries, and the Southpaw soon brought his fifty in 37 balls. Kishan played a sensational knock of 70 runs as he took his team home.
