The 65th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 saw the battle between the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Friday, May 23, at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru won the toss and elected to bowl first in the match. Jitesh Sharma stepped in as RCB captain in the match as Rajat Patidar was not fully fit to field and he played as an impact player.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru bowlers did not have a good day, and they were unable to prove the toss decision right. Even though Romario Shepherd (2), Krunal Pandya (1), Suyash Sharma (1), Lungi Ngidi (1), and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (1) picked up wickets at regular intervals, SRH were able to post a huge score of 231/6 on the board.
Ishan Kishan emerged as the standout performer for SRH as he slammed an unbeaten 94 runs off 48 balls. Abhishek Sharma (34), Aniket Verma (26), and Heinrich Klaasen (24) also chipped in with crucial runs.
Chasing the target, Virat Kohli (43) and Phil Salt (62) batted brilliantly to provide their team with a great start. RCB were firmly in control of the match at 173/3, but the dismissal of Rajat Patidar triggered a collapse.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru went from 173/3 to 189/10 to face a 42-run loss against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. For SRH, Pat Cummins (3), Eshan Malinga (2), Nitish Kumar Reddy (1), Harsh Dubey (1), Harshal Patel (1), and Jaydev Unadkat were amongthe wickets.
