Ishan Kishan challenges Abhishek Sharma as he breaks into Top 10 of ICC T20I Batting Rankings

Team India wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan moved into the top 10 of the latest update of the ICC Men’s T20I batting rankings on Wednesday, February 18. The left-handed batter Ishan Kishan stormed into the top 10 following his explosive match-winning performance against Pakistan in Colombo in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
The left-handed batter Ishan Kishan smashed 61 runs off 24 balls against Namibia and followed it up with 77 off 40 deliveries against Pakistan. India, led by Suryakumar Yadav, have already secured qualification for the Super 8 stage. Kishan will now aim to carry this momentum into the remainder of the ICC tournament.
Ishan Kishan Storms Into Top 10; Abhishek Sharma Maintains Dominance
Ishan Kishan has been the biggest gainer in the latest rankings update, jumping 17 places to claim the eighth spot among T20I batters. He has also emerged as one of the most destructive openers in the ongoing tournament.
Ishan Kishan's teammate Abhishek Sharma continues to hold the No. 1 position in the T20I batting rankings. Sharma remains on top with 917 rating points despite being dismissed for a duck against Pakistan. He also missed the match against Namibia due to a stomach bug.
Tilak Varma jumped to the No. 4 spot in the world with 751 rating points. Meanwhile, South Africa captain Aiden Markram climbed to No. 15 following his match-winning 86 off 44 balls against New Zealand. Also, Suryakumar Yadav is at the No. 6 position.
Pakistan’s Saim Ayub Overtakes Sikandar Raza for No. 1 All-Rounder Spot
Pakistan’s Saim Ayub reclaimed the No. 1 position in the all-rounder rankings, overtaking Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza. With the ball, Ayub picked up crucial wickets and finished with figures of 3/25 against India in Colombo. Raza has now slipped to second place in the all-rounder rankings.
Raza had recently become the first Zimbabwean to reach the No. 1 spot in the ICC ODI all-rounder rankings earlier this season.
Nepal’s Dipendra Singh Airee and Afghanistan’s Azmatullah Omarzai are currently sharing the No. 4 position in the T20I all-rounder rankings. India’s Hardik Pandya climbed three places to secure the No. 3 spot, while Shivam Dube made a jump to break into the top 10.
Arshdeep Singh Drops Out of Top 10 as Varun Chakravarthy Stays on Top
The bowling rankings also saw notable movement. India’s premier left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh dropped five places to No. 16 in the latest T20I bowling rankings.
Arshdeep suffered a slight dip despite picking up important wickets in the opening group matches against the USA and Namibia.
Meanwhile, mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy retained the No. 1 spot in the T20I bowling rankings. With 776 rating points, Chakravarthy holds a narrow lead over Afghanistan skipper Rashid Khan.
Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel are at 14th and 15th place, respectively. Maheesh Theekshana moved up two spots to 13th, and Australia’s Adam Zampa and Nathan Ellis rose one place each to 8th and 11th, respectively. Zimbabwe’s Brad Evans entered the top 10 following his team’s historic win over Australia.
