Cricket Australia (CA) Chief Executive Nick Hockley talking about the tour of Pakistan in 2022 said that it is a “big complex endeavour” and they are ” very committed to touring”.

The Australia National Cricket Team are all set to travel to Pakistan for an all-format series after 24 long years in 2022. Also, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the fixtures for the Australia tour of Pakistan 2022, in total Australia will play 7 games in the tour including three Tests, three One Day Internationals (ODI) and a sole T20 Internationals (T20I) game.

The first Test of the series will be played from March 3 to 7 in Karachi, the second Test will take place in Rawalpindi from March 12 to 16 and the third and final Test will be played in Lahore from March 21 to 25.

Talking about the limited-overs series it will begin on March 29 and end on April 5 and all the games are scheduled to take place at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.

The Chief Executive of Cricket Australia (CA) Nick Hockley has said that they had sent security advisors to Pakistan to do a recce. He added that Cricket Australia is working closely with the Pakistan Cricket Board to make sure that the series goes ahead as per schedule without any interruptions.

“We just had a team go over to Pakistan to do a recce,” Hockley said while speaking to reporters on the Boxing Day Test between Australia and England at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

“We’re working closely with the PCB, working with all the authorities to make sure that those plans are set. It’s a really big complex endeavour. We’re very committed to touring,” he added.

Nick Hockley concluded by saying that Australia will be touring to Pakistan after 24 long years and they have all the intentions to tour ” as long as it’s safe to do so”. He said:

“It’ll be the first time in many, many years, so at the moment we’re going through the post reports of that. But it’s absolutely our intention to tour as long as it’s safe to do so.”
