The Ivory Coast cricket team entered the record books for an unwanted reason during the match against the Nigeria cricket team on Monday, November 25. Ivory registered the record for the lowest total ever recorded in a T20 international, surpassing the previous record of 10, set by the Isle of Man.

Nigeria set a massive target in the T20 World Cup sub-regional Africa qualifier after winning the toss. They scored 271 runs for four wickets in 20 overs. Selim Salau scored 112 runs off 53 balls before retiring, while Isaac Okpe added an explosive 65* from 23 balls, including six sixes and three boundaries.

Ivory Coast Enters The Record Books For An Unwanted Reason

Ivory opener Ouattara Mohamed, who scored four runs, was the team's top scorer as the side was bowled out for just seven runs in 7.3 overs. None of the players could hit a boundary, and six batsmen were dismissed for ducks. Mimi Alex, Maiga Ibrahim, and Dje Claude managed to score a single run each.

Left-arm spinner Isaac Danladi and left-arm pacer Prosper Useni each took three wickets, while right-arm quick Peter Aho claimed two wickets, and Sylvester Okpe took one. Nigeria won their T20 World Cup qualifier by 264 runs, and Zimbabwe's 290-run win over Gambia last month still holds the record.
