Jason Gillespie, the Pakistan red-ball coach, has invited Olympic gold medalist Arshad Nadeem to visit the national cricket team's dressing room. Jason Gillespie stated that the Pakistan team would love to have Arshad Nadeem in the dressing room, adding that it would be a fantastic boost for Pakistan cricketers.

Arshad Nadeem etched his name in the record books by winning the gold medal in javelin throw at the 2024 Paris Olympics with a record-breaking 92.97-meter throw. It was Pakistan's first Olympic medal since 1992. Nadeem pipped reigning champion Neeraj Chopra of India to secure the gold in the javelin throw.

Pakistan is currently preparing for the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh at home. The first match is scheduled to be played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium starting on August 21. Pakistan will conclude the series with the second Test match at the National Stadium in Karachi on August 30.

Would Love To Invite Arshad Nadeem - Jason Gillespie

During a conversation on the PCB podcast, Jason Gillespie praised Arshad Nadeem for his success in the Paris Olympics 2024. Gillespie stated that they invited Nadeem to visit the cricket team's dressing room. Jason Gillespie added that his visit would be a great morale booster for Pakistan cricketers.

"We would love to invite Arshad Nadeem to the dressing room as well. I saw all the Shaheens cheering him on during the Olympics. Having him visit and share his gold medal with the team would be a fantastic boost, especially with the Olympic spirit still in the air. It was a wonderful moment, and we extend an open invitation for him to visit the dressing room," Gillespie said.

Arshad Nadeem received a warm welcome upon returning from the Paris Olympics on Saturday, August 10. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) helped him overcome financial challenges in preparation. The Pakistan Cricket Board significantly supported him by sponsoring his training and providing the necessary equipment.

Arshad Nadeem Has Made Us All Emotional - Shan Masood

Pakistan Test captain Shan Masood stated that Arshad Nadeem's success is more of a motivation for the cricket team to perform well. He emphasized that Nadeem's accomplishments are a testament to Pakistan’s talent.

"Arshad Nadeem has made us all emotional. Seeing him on the podium waving the flag and ringing the Olympic bell was incredible. He deserves all the recognition he’s getting and is a national hero. His achievements highlight the talent in Pakistan, and we’re all proud of him."

"Does it put pressure on the team? I don’t see it as pressure but as a privilege. Representing Pakistan is a huge honor, and every day we play is a privilege. We should feel extremely proud and grateful to represent our country. Arshad Nadeem’s success motivates us to seize our opportunity to do something good for Pakistan."

Pakistan is currently in fifth place in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 table with a PCT of 36.66%. The Men in Green have suffered three losses out of five matches in the ongoing cycle. A win in the upcoming series will help Pakistan climb in the points table.
