The India National Cricket Team is not ready to take any chance with Jasprit Bumrah before the upcoming crucial two-match Test series against Sri Lanka, starting on August 15 in Galle. Even though Jasprit Bumrah has been named in the Test squad, the team management will not rush him back until they are fully satisfied with his fitness.

Now, all eyes are now on Bumrah's recovery as the Indian team management, selectors, coaches, and medical staff wait to see how his body responds before giving him the green signal to play. Amid this, Hardik Pandya reveals why 'India Captaincy' was never his ultimate goal.

Jasprit Bumrah's availability for Sri Lanka tour still not confirmed

As reported by Times of India, Jasprit Bumrah has already completed his fitness and body conditioning work at the BCCI's Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru after reporting there on Thursday (July 30). The next stage of the premier pacer’s recovery begins on Saturday, July 31, when he starts bowling again. After that, the workload will slowly increase if everything goes well.

The Indian team management believes that bowling sessions will give the clearest picture of his fitness. Since Bumrah is a fast bowler and he has had a history of injuries, his body goes through much more pressure than a batter's. And that is why the medical team wants to see Bumrah bowl at full pace before making any final decision for the Sri Lanka tour.
