India’s champion bowler Jasprit Bumrah has yet again shone brightly in the high-pressure situation, as the speedster spurred his magic and guided the Men in Blue to a six-run win over Pakistan in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 thriller on Sunday, June 9, in New York.

It was a perfect Sunday night for the Indian cricket fans, and Bumrah made sure their thrill wouldn’t lessen with his lethal bowling against the Pakistan cricket team in a group match of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on Sunday.

The big fish attract Bumrah the most, and Team India’s premier pacer enjoys hunting him. The story was not different during the last-over thriller against Pakistan. He snatched victory from the jaws of Pakistan and put it in India's lap with his magical bowling in New York.

In this high-voltage match, whenever the Men in Blue were in trouble, the captain Rohit Sharma handed the ball to Bumrah, and he did not disappoint his country and team. The star pacer showed the way to the pavilion to Mohammad Rizwan (31) and Babar Azam (13), who were becoming a threat for Team India in the T20 World Cup 2024 group match.

Then, Bumrah dismissed Iftikhar Ahmed (5), who could have turned the tables of the game at the end of Pakistan's innings and helped India record a memorable victory over their arch-rivals. Speaking about the beauty of Bumrah cleaning bowled Rizwan, it was just so amazing to watch during the blockbuster game.

On the first ball of the 15th over, Bumrah clean-bowled Rizwan with an exceptional delivery. The Pakistan wicketkeeper surprisingly chose an aggressive slog against India’s premier pacer and paid the big price on Sunday.

The ball, delivered on a length and angling in, stayed unexpectedly low and slipped under Rizwan’s bat as he attempted a wild swing across the line. Expectedly, the ball crashed into both the off and middle stumps, sending them flying.

It was a reckless shot from Rizwan against a bowler of Bumrah’s caliber. His wicket was certainly the turning point of the game, as Rizwan could have handed Team India their second defeat in the World Cup.

Well, it seems that Rizwan is slowly becoming Bumrah’s favorite wicket, as he also dismissed the Pakistani keeper in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 at the packed Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Bumrah also clean-bowled Rizwan in the ODI World Cup 2023 at 49 off 69 balls in Ahmedabad. It was just the repeat telecast of his Ahmedabad heroics in New York.

I don't think like that: Bumrah on Rizwan's wicket

However, Bumrah denied it by saying that he just bowled according to the situation and he didn't think about the opposition. Jasprit Bumrah was quoted as saying by ICC: “I don't think like that. But, you know, I look at the situation. For me, the greatest happiness is that whenever there's a problem or there's a puzzle, how do I solve it? What are my options?

Rather than thinking too much in the end or this is the opposition, I try to focus on how I help the team and how do I solve this problem. So, very happy that I could do it today. So, yeah, but there is nothing like that where I was thinking of the opposition.”
