Jasprit Bumrah named captain, Pat Cummins left out of Cricket Australia's Test Team of the Year 2024

Cricket Australia (CA) has announced its Test team of the year 2024. India National Cricket Team fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been named as the captain of the team, which features only two players from the Indian team.

Cricket Australia named Yashasvi Jaiswal as the opener in their team based on the contributions that he made in Tests. The India National Cricket Team batter mustered 1,478 runs at 54.74 in the 15 games that he played to go with three centuries and a best of 214. He ended the year as the leading run-getter for India in Tests.

Accompanying him at the top will be the England National Cricket Team opener, Ben Duckett. The left-hander had another great year with the bat as in 17 games, he slammed 1,149 runs at 37.06 to go with two centuries and the highest score of 153, which he slammed in India.

The leading run-getter in Tests in 2024, Joe Root will be batting at No.3 in Cricket Australia's Test Team of the year. He slammed 1,556 runs at 55.57 in the 17 games that he played to go with 6 tons with the best of 262, which came in Pakistan. Apart from this, he also picked 11 wickets.

Rachin Ravindra, Harry Brook, and Kamindu Mendis to form middle-order in Cricket Australia's Test Team of the Year

New Zealand National Cricket Team all-rounder Rachin Ravindra makes it at No.4 in Test Team of the Year by Cricket Australia. The Kiwi batter scored 984 runs at 42.78 to go with two centuries, with one coming in India as he helped his Team whitewash India at home.

Harry Brook and Kamindu Mendis, who have been nominated for the ICC Test Cricketer of the Year award as well, will be forming the middle order in the team. The England batter scored 1,100 runs at 55.00 to go with four centuries, one of which was a triple century. On the other hand, the Sri Lankan batter mustered 1,049 runs at 74.92 to go with 5 centuries.

Alex Carey has been named as the keeper-batter of the team because of his heroics with bat and gloves. He scored 440 runs at 33.84 to go with three fifties and also effected 46 dismissals, out of which 42 were catches and 4 were stumping.

Jasprit Bumrah leads the bowling attack in the team, Matt Henry and Josh Hazlewood are the other two pacers in the team

For his incredible bowling, Jasprit Bumrah has been named as the captain of the team. The premier India National Cricket Team fast bowler picked 71 wickets in Tests in 2024, which is the most by any bowler in the year. He also picked five fifers in the 13 games that he played.

Jasprit Bumrah was also the captain of the India National Cricket Team in the Perth Test against the Australia National Cricket Team. Jasprit Bumrah showed incredible skills as a leader and guided his team to the win in the opening match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.

Matt Henry and Josh Hazlewood are the other two pacers in the team. Both were incredible with the ball and helped their respective teams in winning the games. The Kiwi pacer picked 48 wickets at 18.58 in 9 games while Hazlewood bagged 35 wickets at 13.60 in 15 games.

Along with the pacers, Keshav Maharaj has been picked as the spinner in the team. The South Africa National Cricket Team player picked 35 wickets at 19.20 and helped his team reach the final of the ICC World Test Championship.
