The India National Cricket Team got a massive breakthrough when the leading fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah dismissed the England National Cricket Team captain Harry Brook for just 1 run in the three-match ODI series opener on Tuesday (July 14) at Edgbaston.
After Ben Duckett's and Jacob Bethell's wickets in the 13th over, Indian captain Shubman Gill handed the ball to Bumrah, and as expected, he delivered a massive breakthrough to the touring side in the first ODI on Tuesday at Edgbaston. Jasprit Bumrah's magic stuns Harry Brook in 1st IND vs ENG ODI
Bumrah bowled a cutter that came towards Harry Brook and bounced a little more than expected. The dangerous England captain tried to defend the ball with a loose bat, but he failed to control the shot. The ball hit the upper part of Brook's bat instead of the middle.
As a result, the ball flew towards the slip cordon, where the senior opener Rohit Sharma was stationed, and he took an easy catch to ensure Brook returned to the dugout for just 1 run from three balls in the ongoing first ODI at Edgbaston.

Ben Duckett calls Jasprit Bumrah the best all-format bowler
Before the match, England opener Ben Duckett has showered rich praise on Jasprit Bumrah, calling the Indian star the best all-format bowler.
Ben Duckett said on Sony Sports Network: “We’ve just had one day of training and not had many discussions; however, we are never going to take Jasprit Bumrah lightly. He’s the best all-format bowler in the world. We know the skills that he has.
I've faced him across probably 10 tests now. India will use him throughout the innings to try and take wickets at all times. It is how we want to try and combat that.” Amid this, Watch: Shubman Gill, Gurnoor Brar collide taking Jos Buttler's catch, Virat Kohli's reaction goes viral.
Can India end England's seven-match Edgbaston streak?
The India National Cricket Team entered the first ODI against England with history on their side despite the hosts' incredible record at Edgbaston. Over the last 10 years, India has enjoyed the upper hand in ODI cricket against England, winning 11 matches while losing only six.
The numbers show that the Men in Blue have consistently outplayed England in the 50-over format. The Men in Blue also have a positive record at Edgbaston, where they have won three of their five ODIs against England, compared to the hosts' two victories.
However, England has turned Edgbaston into a fortress in recent years. They have won their last seven ODIs at the venue, making it one of their strongest home grounds. Interestingly, the last team to defeat England in an ODI at Edgbaston was India.
Back in 2014, India produced a dominant display to crush England by nine wickets. With England carrying a seven-match unbeaten streak at Edgbaston and India having a superior head-to-head record over the past decade, this three-match ODI series opener is exciting to watch for the fans.
