Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Delhi Capitals (DC) squared off with each other in the 47th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The match between the two teams took place at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata. 

After suffering a disappointing loss in the last game against the Punjab Kings, the Kolkata Knight Riders made a solid comeback in the tournament. They thumped Delhi Capitals by 7 wickets at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata to win their 6th game of their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.

Delhi Capitals surprised many they opted to bat first after winning the toss. The decision didn't work in their favor as they had a torrid outing with the bat and struggled to get going against the Kolkata Knight Riders bowlers at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. 

Prithvi Shaw (13) and Jake Fraser-McGurk (12) started off aggressively with the bat and it seemed that they would post a big total on the board. However, that wasn't the case as they both lost their wickets after starts and Delhi Capitals came under pressure. 

Abishek Porel (18) and skipper Rishabh Pant (27) tried to bail the team out of trouble and added 31 runs together. However, Kolkata Knight Riders bowlers made sure that they cashed on the start they got and picked wickets at the crucial juncture of the game. 

Kolkata Knight Riders spinners were all over the batters as Delhi Capitals was left tottering at 101/7. But it was Kuldeep Yadav, who stood tall for his team and played a vital innings. He scored an unbeaten 35 runs and powered Delhi Capitals to a total of 153 runs. 

For Kolkata Knight Riders, Varun Chakravarthy was the pick of the bowlers with his figures of 3/16. Apart from him, Vaibhav Arora and Harshit Rana picked two wickets whereas Mitchell Starc and Sunil Narine also claimed one wicket each with the ball.

KKR vs DC IPL 2024 Match 47- Kolkata Knight Riders innings: Phil Salt slams brutal half-century with bat 

Kolkata Knight Riders were off to a brutal start with the bat at the Eden Gardens. Phil Salt (68) played an exceptional innings at the top. The keeper-batter scored a brisk fifty and added 79 runs for the opening partnership with Sunil Narine, who scored 15 runs. 

Axar Patel removed both the openers before Rinku Singh (11) perished too. However, skipper Shreyas Iyer (33*) and Venkatesh Iyer (26*) made sure that they took their team home. The duo added 57 runs for the partnership as Kolkata Knight Riders chased the target with 7 wickets in hand.
