Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) had a night to forget with the bat in the ongoing final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). They achieved the lowest-ever total in the history of the IPL finals after their poor batting display.

The final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 between Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad is underway at the MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai. The first innings of the game saw utter dominance from the Shreyas Iyer-led side, who was asked to field first.

Sunrisers Hyderabad despite batting first struggled to get going as they looked torrid with the bat. Mitchell Starc began the proceedings with the ball as he removed Abhishek Sharma with the peach in the first over of the match.

The wicket of Abhishek Sharma opened the floodgates for the Sunrisers Hyderabad after they lost wickets in quick succession of time and looked clueless with the bat. Kolkata Knight Riders bowlers were all over the batters as they made run-scoring hard for them.

Aiden Markram (20) in the middle tried to keep things positive but nothing worked in the way as Kolkata Knight Riders bowlers landed timely blows. They lost 8 wickets for just 90 runs. It seemed that they would get all out under 100 at the MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai.

However, skipper Pat Cummins came up with a fighting effort. The pacer played an innings of 24 runs off 19 balls and ensured that his team went past 100 runs. Based on his effort with the bat down the order, Sunrisers Hyderabad posted a total of 113 runs on the board.

For Kolkata Knight Riders, Andre Russell was the pick of the bowlers with his figures of 3/19. Apart from him, Mitchell Starc and Harshit Rana chipped in with two wickets each. Vaibhav Arora, Varun Chakravarty, and Sunil Narine claimed one wicket each.
