Mitchell Starc, on Tuesday (May 21), gave Kolkata Knight Riders a stunning start by dismissing Travis Head in the very first over of the ongoing Qualifier 1 against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

SRH captain Pat Cummins won the toss and opted to bat first. All eyes were on Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma as they came out to open the innings for the Hyderabad-based outfit. Both the players have performed really well this season and SRH would have hoped for a good start in the ongoing game as well.

However, it took Mitchell Starc just two deliveries to show why KKR made him the most expensive player in the history of the IPL. The Australia clean-bowled his compatriot with an absolute beauty and sent him back for a two-ball duck. Starc bowled a full-length delivery that moved away a bit at the last moment to outfox Head.

Watch as Mitchell Starc castles Travis Head:

Head was dismissed for a golden duck in a similar manner in the last game as well with Arshdeep Singh dismissing him. While the left-handed batsman has failed to perform in his last two innings, he has had a stunning run in the competition so far. He is currently the third-highest run-scorer in IPL 2024. Head has scored 533 runs so far with the help of one century and four half-centuries.

Talking about the game, SRH were on 13 for 2 in the second over at the time of writing this report. After Head's dismissal, Vaibhav Arora dismissed the in-form Abhishek Sharma in the second over to put KKR in the driver's seat.

The winner of the ongoing game will qualify for the final, scheduled to take place on Sunday (May 26). On the other hand, the loser will be facing the winner of the Eliminator between Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
