Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) all-rounder Sunil Narine made sure that he joined the wicket column in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 game against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The match between the two teams is underway at the Narendra Modi International Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Kolkata Knight Riders have been all over the Sunrisers Hyderabad with the ball in the ongoing game. The Shreyas Iyer-led haven't put a foot wrong with the ball and have made mockery of the opposition's batting lineup at the Narendra Modi International Stadium in Ahmedabad.
It was Mitchell Starc first who wreaked havoc across the Kolkata Knight Riders' top order with his fiery spell and broke the backbone of the Orange Army. After that, the Shreyas Iyer-led side didn't look back and kept chipping with wickets quickly to put the opposition under pressure.
While every other bowler contributed in some way, Sunil Narine in his first three overs couldn't make an impact but he made sure that he added himself to the wickets column in his last over as he produced a magnificent delivery to remove Sanvir Singh, who came in as impact player.
Sunil Narine bowled a 92.6kph length ball on the middle stump that turned and gripped after pitching. Sanvir Singh leaned ahead tentatively to counter it but it left a major gap between bat and pad. The ball deflected off his pads and crashed into the stumps.

Sunrisers Hyderabad's move to send Sanvir Singh as an impact player didn’t work as he bagged a golden duck. With his wicket, the Pat Cummins-led side was left tottering at 121/7 at the Narendra Modi International Stadium in Ahmedabad as KKR landed another nail in the coffin.
After Sanvir Singh's wicket, Abdul Samad also perished early. But that skipper Pat Cummins played magnificent innings with the bat and took his team past 150 runs on the board. He scored unbeaten runs as Sunrisers Hyderabad posted a total of 159 runs at the Narendra Modi International Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Feeling very good, I think we have been having a tremendous season - Andre Russell
Kolkata Knight Riders all-rounder Andre Russell ahead of the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad talked about the feelings inside the dressing room. He expressed his team to display positive performance in the ongoing game. He also talked about his form and claimed:
"Feeling very good, I think we have been having a tremendous season, this is where all the teams strive to reach, we have a good thing going, I hope tonight we can keep playing some good positive cricket. (Having not played a game after 11th May due to inclement weather) We are still focused, we have no control over the weather, we were prepared to play warm-up and everything, and the energy was still there.
"It looks like it’s going to be an amazing night tonight, no weather around, we are ready to play some cricket. I’m in good nick, I have been hitting the ball well, I missed out on a few innings where I could have pushed the score more. With the balance in the team, it gives me the confidence to go out and play my shots," he concluded.
