Krunal, Hardik Pandya's Father Passes Away After Suffering Cardiac Arrest

India allrounders Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya have suffered a huge personal tragedy with their father Himanshu Pandya passing away on Saturday morning. Himanshu Pandya suffered a cardiac arrest and could not be revived.

Following the tragic incident, Krunal Pandya, who was leading Baroda in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, has left the bio-bubble created for the tournament in Vadodara. Krunal has left the bubble in order to be with his bereaved family and as a result, he would not be playing for Baroda in the ongoing Indian T20 tournament.

“Yes, Krunal Pandya has left the bubble. It is a personal tragedy, Baroda Cricket Association mourns this loss of Hardik and Krunal,” Baroda Cricket Association CEO Shishir Hattangadi was quoted as saying by ANI.

Krunal Pandya played three matches so far in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq tournament, managing to take four wickets with his left-arm spin. In the first match against Uttarakhand, he starred with the bat, scoring 76. So far, Baroda have won all of their three games and are currently at the top of Elite Group C. Hardik Pandya, on the other hand is currently training for the upcoming home series against England.

Hardik recently returned from Australia where he starred with the bat for the Men in Blue. He was adjudged the Man of the Series after starring with the bat in the three-match T20I series against Australia. His performance helped India win the series 2-1 after losing the ODI series. Hardik Pandya had impressed in the ODI series too by playing knocks of 90 and 92. Before leaving for Australia, he and his brother had helped Mumbai Indians win the IPL 2020 in UAE.
