Kuldeep Yadav, the left-arm chinaman spinner, has been declared the Player of the Match for his stupendous spell that comprised a five-wicket haul in the first innings. However, this snubbed Yashasvi Jaiswal of his POTM despite his spectacular innings of 175 in the first innings.

India started their ICC World Test Championship in 2025 with the much-anticipated and thrilling contest between India and England. The two giants of the game played on English soil after many years, and the series ended in a neck-and-neck contest. The scoreline ended in 2-2, as the two captains, Shubman Gill and Ben Stokes, shared the trophy.

India then returned to some red-ball action at home after having lost the previous home Test series against New Zealand. This time around, the 2-match home series featured West Indies alongside India. India has dominated the Windies, as they have registered a comfortable win by a 2-0 margin.

Kuldeep Yadav was declared Player of the Match for a stunning spell on the flat track of Delhi

Kuldeep Yadav, the left-arm chinaman spinner, has been named as the Player of the Match for the second Test in Delhi. The bowler was picked over the Indian batters who nudged to their big daddy hundreds, as the pitch had nothing much to offer for bowlers.

Even Kuldeep Yadav, who got 8 wickets in the game, admitted that the pitch didn't have any action for the spinners, as the conditions were quite challenging to bowl in. He also revealed how much he enjoyed bowling in Ahmedabad despite not many wickets on that turf.

"This was a totally different wicket. Bowling a lot of overs was the challenge here, I enjoyed bowling here. There wasn't any drift here. The wicket was too dry," said Kuldeep Yadav.

"Bowling lot of overs and getting the breakthrough is something I enjoy a lot. When you put a lot of revs, you generally get the drift. You love to the get the batter bowled. I enjoyed a couple of wickets in the first Tests, here as well," Kuldeep Yadav's honest verdict on the hardship behind picking wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

India emerges with the longest unbeaten streak against the West Indies

India was the superior side in Ahmedabad as well as in Delhi, with the top Indian performers scoring runs at regular intervals. Dhruv Jurel, KL Rahul, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, and Ravindra Jadeja all scored a hundred each in the series.

Shubman Gill and KL Rahul remain the only two batters with both a century and a half-century to their name. Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Siraj, Ravindra Jadeja, and Jasprit Bumrah picked 12, 10, 8, and 7 wickets, respectively.

"The one thing that you always strive for is how can you make your team win a match. And as a batsman, when I'm going out there, that's the only thought that I have," said skipper Shubman Gill after India's win.

From Captain to Coach: Darren Sammy extends losing streak in India

Currently, with the recent series defeat against India on their home soil, the West Indian side, led by Roston Chase, extended their losing streak against India to 6 between 2013 and 2025.

The losing streak began back in 2013, when the current West Indies coach, Darren Sammy, was the Captain of the West Indies side.

Now, under his reign as the West Indies coach, they have lost two further games in India, and before this had faced a humiliating loss against Australia on their home soil. The Windies have already lost 5 matches in the WTC cycle of 2025-27.
