"Least I Can Do Is To Take Care Of Education Of Children" - Virender Sehwag Offers To Provide Free Education To Children Of Odisha Train Crash Victims

Legendary India National Cricket Team batter Virender Sehwag has offered a huge help to the Odisha train crash orphans. On Sunday, June 4, the 44-year-old took to Twitter to offer to provide free education to children of the deceased in the Odisha train tragedy.

On Friday, June 2, a horrendous train crash took place in Odisha, which is being labeled by many as the biggest train disaster in India. It is also the deadliest train crash in the World since 2004.

Over 275 people have died while over 1,170 have suffered injuries in the train disaster. Notably, three trains— Shalimar-Chennai Coromandel Express, Bengaluru-Howrah super fast, and a goods train — were involved in a massive collision near Bahanaga Bazar station in the Balasore district of Odisha.

Meanwhile, Virender Sehwag, who represented India National Cricket Team in 104 Tests, 251 ODIs, and 19 T20Is, took to Twitter to share the picture of the train tragedy and stated that the image will haunt many for a very long time.

Virender Sehwag further wrote that the least he can do during these tough times is to provide free education to children of deceased victims at Sehwag International School’s boarding facility.

“This image will haunt us for a long time. In this hour of grief, the least I can do is to take care of education of children of those who lost their life in this tragic accident. I offer such children free education at Sehwag International School’s boarding facility,” Virender Sehwag tweeted.

“Also salute all the brave men and women who have been at the forefront of the rescue operations and the medical team and volunteers who have been voluntarily donating blood . We are together in this,” Virender Sehwag added.

Other than Virender Sehwag, several Indian cricketers expressed their grief towards the victims of the Odisha train tragedy.

“Heartbreaking to see disturbing pictures coming from Odisha. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families affected by this terrible incident, and I wish for a speedy recovery for all the injured individuals,” tweeted Shubman Gill.

“Deeply shocked and saddened by the gut-wrenching train accident in Odisha. Heartfelt condolences and prayers to those affected. May strength and support surround everyone involved. Salute to the ones who have come forth to help,” tweeted KL Rahul.

“My heart goes out to each and everyone affected by the train accident in Odisha. May God give strength to the grieving families & wishing a swift recovery to those injured,” tweeted India captain Rohit Sharma.

“Saddened to hear about the tragic train accident in Odisha. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families who lost their loved ones and wishing a speedy recovery to the injured,” Virat Kohli tweeted.
