Australia is all set to tour Pakistan for the first time since 1998. This is the side’s first trip to the country in 24 years. The Men in Yellow are scheduled to play three Test matches, three ODIs and one T20I between March 03 to April 05. The Test matches will be played between March 3-25. The ODIs will be played next between March 29-April 2. The one-off T20I on April 5 will being a close to the tour.
Australian Test skipper Pat Cummins has said that the side is pretty pumped up and looking forward to touring Pakistan. He further said that things are looking positive and in the process lauded the Pakistan Cricket Board for putting in the hard work to ensure that the tour is on.
“Still a bit to work through … but at this stage it’s all looking really positive. The amount of work the PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) has put into it is fantastic. It’s shaping up as, I think just about everyone – if not all – will go,” said Pat Cummins as quoted by Cricket Pakistan.
He said that all the players are free to decide whether they are willing to travel to Pakistan. Cummins further said that if any players wants to pull out from the tour, the management will support their decision.
“If some players need to make a choice, it’s absolutely fine that they won’t be there. Still got a bit of water to go under the bridge, a bit more info to gather and get around to everyone,” concluded Pat Cummins.
