Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will be eyeing their first win of the season when they lock horns against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the seventh game of IPL 2025. The game is scheduled to be played on Thursday (March 27) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
Lucknow Super Giants' campaign began with a heartbreaking defeat against Delhi Capitals earlier this week. Whirlwind fifties from Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran had propelled LSG to a big total of 209/8 in the allotted 20 overs.
The Lucknow Super Giants bowlers then came up with a good show to reduce DC to 65/5. However, they could not finish the game for their side as a brilliant half-century from Ashutosh Sharma powered DC to an unlikely victory.
Lucknow Super Giants will be keen to bounce back by beating high-flying SRH, who began their campaign with a 44-run win over the Rajasthan Royals. So, ahead of the SRH vs LSG clash, we are taking a look at the LSG Playing 11.
LSG Playing 11 vs SRH - IPL 2025, Match 7:
Openers: Aiden Markram, Mitchell Marsh
Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh are set to be the openers in the Lucknow Super Giants' Playing 11 for the game against SRH. With SRH in such destructive form, the onus will be on Markram and Marsh to give their team a strong start with the bat.
Markram could not score big in the previous match against DC but is expected to retain his spot in the Lucknow Super Giants' Playing 11. The South Africa star was out for only 15 runs in his last outing and will be eyeing a better show against his former team.
Marsh, on the other hand, played a brilliant knock of 72 runs. His knock came off just 36 balls and was studded with six fours and as many sixes. With form on his side, Marsh would be looking to impress with the bat once again.
Middle-order: Nicholas Pooran, Ayush Badoni, Rishabh Pant (c & wk), David Miller, Shardul Thakur, Shahbaz Ahmed
Nicholas Pooran was the pick of the Lucknow Super Giants batsmen in the last game. The West Indies star's stunning knock helped Lucknow Super Giants post the big total. He smashed 75 runs off just 30 balls with the help of six fours and seven sixes. Pooran will be eyeing another big knock against SRH.
Captain Rishabh Pant had a disastrous outing in his first game as the Lucknow Super Giants' captain and will be desperate to turn things around. He not only got out for a duck but also missed an easy stumping in the last over that would have powered his team to a thrilling win.
Ayush Badoni was out for just four runs and will be keen to deliver a better performance. Veteran batsman David Miller scored an unbeaten 27 and ensured that Lucknow Super Giants posted a 200-plus total. With wickets falling on one end, Miller stood firm at his end and powered LSG to the big total.
Shardul Thakur and Shahbaz Ahmed are set to be the two allrounders in the LSG Playing 11. Both of them failed to deliver with the bat and will be looking to make amends.
With the ball, Thakur gave Lucknow Super Giants a flying start by taking two wickets in the very first over. He will be eyeing a similar performance against SRH as well.
Bowlers: Ravi Bishnoi, Digvesh Rathi, Manimaran Siddharth
The LSG bowlers will be heartbroken after the defeat in the last game and will be eyeing a better display against SRH. Even though they could not power their team to a win, they are expected to retain their spots in the LSG Playing 11. Manimaran Siddharth, Digvesh Rathi, and Ravi Bishnoi picked up two wickets each against DC.
