The pacer made his last competitive appearance against Bangladesh in Hyderabad. His return was further delayed after he suffered a toe injury while undergoing rehabilitation.

Mayank Yadav has rejoined the Lucknow Super Giants squad for the remainder of the IPL 2025 season, after completing his rehabilitation.

However, Yadav will undergo a fitness assessment by LSG's head physio, Ashish Kaushik, before his availability for the upcoming match against the Rajasthan Royals.

Over the past two years, he has suffered five stress fractures. He will be considered for selection for the weekend clash after receiving approval from Kaushik, according to a report in The Times of India.

The Super Giants took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share the clip of Mayank rejoining the team after missing seven matches.

Mayank Yadav's IPL Journey with a Mix of Success and Setbacks

Mayank Yadav's IPL journey has been a mix of impressive performances and injuries. He took 7 wickets in 4 games for Lucknow Super Giants before being ruled out due to injury. The pacer won the Player of the Match award in his first two games.

He registered bowling figures of 3 for 27 against Punjab Kings (PBKS) and 3 for 14 against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

Mayank then made his international debut for India in the T20I series against Bangladesh, taking 4 wickets in 3 matches.

The 22-year-old, who clocked speeds over 150 kmph last year and rattled the best of batters, is expected to play a crucial role for the Rishabh Pant-led team in their race for the playoffs in the ongoing season.

Shardul Thakur Leading Lucknow Super Giants' Bowling Attack in IPL 2025

Lucknow Super Giants have faced significant injury setbacks in the 2025 IPL season. Mohsin Khan was ruled out of the competition, and Akash Deep and Avesh Khan also missed several matches due to injuries.

To address the gaps, LSG brought in Shardul Thakur as an injury replacement, and he has been leading the pace attack.

Thakur has taken 11 wickets in seven matches, with an average of 24.91 and an economy rate of 10.96. He is currently the third-highest wicket-taker in the tournament.

Despite these challenges, LSG has managed to win four out of their seven matches and is currently in fifth place in the points table. With Mayank Yadav's return to the squad, his addition is expected to further strengthen their bowling attack.
