Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians (MI) displayed a staggering performance in their fourth game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. They pounded Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 5 wickets to register their second successive win of the tournament. It was an exhibition of high-class batting and bowling from the end, which saw them winning.
Bowling first, they kept chipping in with the regular wickets despite Venkatesh Iyer smashing a brilliant century. They didn’t allow partnerships to settle and on account of collective bowling performance restricted the opposition to a total of 185 runs.
After the game, Mumbai Indians, who wore women’s jerseys to support women in support, did a victory lap around the ground, and during that one incident took place that left many in splits. Zaheer Khan and Parthiv Patel were commentating on the sidelines for Jio cinema and as the MI team reached near them Ishan and Rohit took Zaheer along with them.

MI vs KKR: “We just had to carry the momentum from the previous game and the boys put on a show,” says stand-in skipper Suryakumar Yadav
Suryakumar Yadav, who was captaining Mumbai Indians, addressed the win over KKR. He said that they just needed to carry on the momentum from the last game. Speaking at the post-match presentation, he elaborated:
“We had a chat in the dugout, we just had to carry the momentum from the previous game and the boys put on a show. I would have loved to finish the game but very happy with how things went. In the afternoon, I thought the wicket was a bit dry but the way the guys batted, it settled down in the evening. At Wankhede, 180-190 is quite changeable and Ishan took us off to a great start.”
Mumbai Indians will be next seen in action when they will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their next game on Tuesday (18th April).
