Veteran Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin took a dig at former England skipper Michael Vaughan after the second semi-final match of the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Ravichandran Ashwin gave a hilarious reply to Vaughan following India's victory over England in the World Cup knockout match.

The Indian cricket team secured a commanding 68-run victory over England at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on June 27. The Men in Blue outplayed the Jos Buttler-led team in all three departments in the match. The Indian team advanced to the final of the T20 World Cup after a decade-long hiatus.

After England's batting collapse in the recent match, Michael Vaughan stated that 'India thoroughly deserves to be in the final'. Vaughan emphasized that India is better suited to the T20 World Cup 2024 conditions, describing them as the best team in the tournament so far.

“India thoroughly deserve to be in the final .. The best team in tournament so far .. Was always going to hard for England on this pitch .. India just so much better on lower slower spinning pitches,” Vaughan posted on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Hence, India Won - Ravichandran Ashwin

Ravichandran Ashwin responded humorously, using a mathematical integral formula to explain why India deserved to win. The 37-year-old spinner's witty reply, concluding with "Hence, India won," left everyone in splits.

"∫ 1 dx = x + C. ∫ a dx = ax+ C. ∫ xn dx = ((xn+1)/(n+1))+C ; n≠1. Hence, India won," Ashwin replied.

Hope You're OK - Wasim Jaffer

Former Indian opener Wasim Jaffer, known for his humorous banter with Michael Vaughan on social media, posted a funny video. Jaffer and Vaughan often engage in light-hearted exchanges whenever their respective teams play against each other.

"Hope you're ok @MichaelVaughan #INDvENG #T20WoldCup," Wasim Jaffer wrote.

Axar Patel Named Player Of The Match For His Bowling Performance

The Indian team posted a competitive total of 171 in 20 overs after being asked to bat first. Virat Kohli (9) and Rishabh Pant (4) were dismissed inside the powerplay. Rohit Sharma showed aggression despite wickets falling at the other end. He added a 73-run partnership with Suryakumar Yadav for the third wicket.

Rohit was dismissed after scoring 57 runs off 39 balls with the help of nine fours and two sixes. Suryakumar missed the half-century mark by just three runs. Hardik Pandya (23 off 13), Ravindra Jadeja (17 off 9), and Axar Patel (10 off 6) helped the team reach a par total on the challenging surface in Guyana.

The trio of Axar Patel (3/23), Kuldeep Yadav (3/19), and Jasprit Bumrah (2/12) ran through England's batting order in the knockout match. Harry Brook top-scored for England, scoring 25 runs off 19 deliveries. The Jos Buttler-led team managed to score just 103 runs in response to India's 172-run target.
