Mike Hussey, the former batting coach of the England Cricket Team did quite a decent job. He helped England win their 2nd T20 World Cup Title after a span of 12 years. This wasn’t Mike Hussey’s maiden stint as previously he was a part of the South African Cricket Team as a consultant and also is the batting mentor of CSK in IPL.
Mike Hussey fondly known as Mr Cricket, was a part of the 2007 World Cup-winning team. The left-handed batter was renowned for his innovative shots where he had scored 5,442 runs in 185 ODIs with an average of 48.1 whereas in Tests he scored 6,235 runs in 79 Test Matches with an average of 51.5.
Mike Hussey on England Role
Mike Hussey was seen having an interaction with West Australian and was asked about his experience. “I must admit when I first pulled on the shirt it was a little bit weird. And I wasn’t exactly sure what the reaction was going to be from the crowd, but you just get on with it pretty quickly,” said Mike Hussey.
“Once you start working with the players and investing in what they are doing, you forget what shirt you have got on. Nothing official, but if there was I would consider it,” he added.
Michael Hussey Invaluable
Ashes 2023 is expected to be a riveting contest as Australia would be looking to go one step ahead this time as in 2019, they had squared the series by 2-2. It won’t be wrong to say that Michael Hussey’s addition can do wonders for the team as his experience would be priceless for the team. We all have witnessed how dangerous the team has become under Brendon McCullum.
England’s ultra-aggressive approach which so far has been fruitful would be tested against Australia as they have got a threatening bowling attack. England would be well aware of the fact that how South Africa rattled them in the 1st test match of the series. It would be interesting to see whether England tweaks their approach for a high-voltage clash.
